Abstract
Rabbits were injected subcut., intraperiton. and intraven. with 5 MLD of diphtheria toxin in normal saline or in cod-liver, arachis or olive oils finely emulsified in water and adjusted to pH 8 [See B.A. Vol. 8(9) : Entry 19657]. Rabbits were injected subcut. with typhoid bacilli, and both rabbits and patients with bacillen emulsion tuberculin (BE) in olive oil. No toxic effects occurred with subcut. injections if the oil were highly dispersed; the usual effects appeared when given by the other routes. Large doses of BE, administered mixed with olive oil emulsion, did not give the general reaction caused by much smaller doses of BE alone. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
