Abstract
The incidence of prostatic abscess has been declining. Initially, gonococcal organisms were the major offending pathogens but, more recently, the coliform group has predominated. A case of systemic blastomycosis that presented as an acute prostatic abscess is reported. A review of the recent literature does not reveal any cases of disseminated blastomycosis presenting in this manner. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
