Hyperhomoeysteinaemia has been identified as an independent risk factor for atherosclerotic and thromboembolic diseases such as cerebro‐vascular diseases, coronary artery disease and venous thrombosis. This review will discuss the role of high levels of plasma homocysteine in stroke disease. Keywords
