Systemic antibacterial drug selection and dosage

Abstract
Four tables are presented. One lists oral absorption, lipid solubility, milk/serum ratio, urine levels and drug concentration in tissues as a percentage of serum concentration, of penicillins, cephalosporins, aminoglycosides, spectinomycin, macrolides, lincomycin, tetracyclines, chloramphenicol, trimethoprim and sulfonamides. Two give the in vitro sensitivity of 29 important pathogenic bacteria to the same antibiotics. The fourth tabulates dosage and serum levels in cattle.
