Abstract
A method of recovering the enamel matrix after decalcification of the teeth in 5% HNO3 is described. The materials used were all Filipino teeth. The method presented is less tedious than the other methods previously reported. The results appear to indicate that the method may be used in the study of the histology and pathology of the organic constituent of the enanel. Loss of the enamel matrix is attributed to rough handling of the specimen during processing rather than to the dissolving action of the acid used in decalcification. Keywords
