Abstract
P-Chlorophenylalanine, by blocking serotonin biosynthesis, offers to investigators a new means of exploring serotonin's natural functions. Basic problems bearing on the mechanisms of sleep, pain, and tranquilizer action have already benefited from the availability of this new drug tool. In clinical research as well, p-chlorophenylalanine gives promise of clarifying serotonin's medical importance. Keywords
