Abstract
Determination of fibrin in [human] plasma, also containing fibrinogen, was possible by selective adsorption on affinity columns prepared from highly purified fibrinogen. Desorption was complete using 1.0 M potassium bromide, pH 5.3. The cold-insoluble globulin was desorbed. The eluate was checked on microtiter plates by the staphylococcal clumping test which selectively detects fibrin or fibrinogen. The procedure worked well with simple laboratory equipment. Diagnosis of fibrinogen-fibrin complexes was demonstrated in some pathological plasmas. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
