Abstract
The first analytical solution of the trapped ion‐vortex state known since the early days of computer simulations is presented. It appears as a nonlinear saturated state of the ion‐ion two‐stream instability and represents, macroscopically, a plasma (ion) hole moving near the ion thermal velocity. Both electron and ion densities are locally depressed. Keywords
