Abstract
Buxus sempervirens (Buxaceae) of Turkish origin has yielded a new steroidal alkaloid, (-)-(Z)-buxenone (1) along with its known isomer (-)-(E)-buxenone (2). The plant also yielded 4′,5-dihydroxy-3,3′,6,7-tetramethoxyflavone (3) and artemetin (5-hydroxy-3,3′,4′,6,7-pentamethoxyflavone) (4). These flavones have not been isolated from Buxus species previously. Keywords
