Abstract
Bladder and urethral pressure responses to pelvic sympathetic and pudendal nerve stimulation in 60 anesthetized cats were studied. The urethral resistance was composed of smooth and skeletal muscular components, which relaxed with pelvic nerve stimulation. Reciprocal inhibition of the detrusor-external sphincter was a spinal-mediated reflex that was elicited by pelvic or pudendal nerve stimulation. Urethral smooth muscular pressure loss with pelvic nerve stimulation was blocked with propranolol, suggesting that .beta.-receptors were involved in this response. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
