Abstract
A descr. is given of the larval nematodes found encapsulated in the peritoneum of the snake Zamenis algirus at Port Etienne, French West Africa. It has been identified with Hartertia zorillae, which spp. is here transferred to the genus Metathelazia. The systematic position of Metathelazia is uncertain. If the 1st intermediate host is a mollusk, it belongs to the Metastrongy-loidea. If, as is more likely, it is an arthropod, it belongs to the Spiruroidea.
