The qualitative behavior of the ground state wave function of H2+

Abstract
We use differential inequality techniques to study the qualitative behavior of the ground state wave function of H2+. Our results include proofs that the ground state eigenfuction is cylindrically decreasing and that it has exactly two maxima at the nuclear positions and no local minimum.Keywords
