Abstract
Similarities of superficial structure between mature sperms of some animals and those of bryophytes has suggested the possibility of determining homologies between cytoplasmic formed bodies in plant and animal cells. It is indicated that homologies can be worked out at least partially in sperm-forming cells of 2 species of Polytrichum. Homologues in the plant cell of the animal Golgi apparatus and chondriome are suggested.
