Abstract
The value of the frequency shift in the spectrum of the stimulated thermal scattering, , is shown to be proportional to the amplitude and the inverse duration of the incident light pulse and to depend in a minor way on its spectral width . Under ordinary experimental conditions in liquids, the calculation yields . The relation is experimentally confirmed.
