Abstract
Neurons (47) in the dorsal lateral geniculate nucleus of normal adult cats were studied physiologically and morphologically to determine structure/function relationships at the single-cell level. Neurons were initially identified during extracellular recording of the neuron, revalidation of its classification, iontophoretic filling of the cell with horseradish peroxidase (HRP), histological processing to visualize the HRP-filled cell, and morphological analysis of the physiologically characterized neuron. The sample includes 25 X-cells, 19 Y-cells, 1 W-cell and 2 physiologically unclassified cells. This publication has 32 references indexed in Scilit:
