IMMUNOFLUORESCENT LOCALIZATION OF β2-MICROGLOBULIN IN THE HUMAN KIDNEY

Abstract
Using antisera to human .beta.2-microglobulin and an immunofluorescent technique, .beta.2-microglobulin apparently localized along tubular and glomerular basement membranes of renal biopsies studied. Since .beta.2-microglobulin is a subunit of HL-A preparations, it may serve as an indirect marker for the presence of HL-A antigens in these structures.
