Abstract
Mycobacterium rhodochrous was isolated from the skin of a knee lesion that was acquired following horseback riding. The location of the patient's lesion and the finding of similar lesions in the horse suggest the possible transmission of the disease from the horse to the patient. Clinical history and bacteriological data are discussed. The suggestion is made that M rhodochrous could be a pathogen in this case.
