Abstract
Point analyses of rumen contents of white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus) were used to determine diet. Preference ratings were developed from the data collected. Deer diet in relation to soil type was: clay areas - 70 [degree]/o forbs, 22 [degree]/o browse, and 8 [degree]/o grasses; and sandy areas - 53 [degree]/o forbs, 45 [degree]/o browse, and 2 [degree]/o grasses. Seven species from the combined sand and clay areas made up 50 [degree]/o of the deer diet. Mast averaged 29 [degree]/o of the diet from the combined sand and clay areas. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
