Abstract
In Graham County, Arizona, the long-staple cotton variety Pima S-2 was less subject to attack by the bollworm, Heliothis zea (Boddie), than the short-staple variety Acala 1517-D. In Maricopa County, Pima S-2 was less subject to bollworm attack than the short-staple varieties Acala 4-42-77 (both "regular" and glandless strains) and Deltapine Smooth leaf. The glandless strain of Acala 4-42-77 was more subject to bollworm attack than the "regular" strain. Deltapine Smoth Leaf was particularly subject tobollworm attack, with especially heavy infestations in fruiting structures on late-season growth. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
