Abstract
The report of Wood and Werkman that CO2 is utilized during glycerol fermentation by Propionibacterium species in the presence of CaCO3 was confirmed. From 9 to 25 molecules of CO2 are utilized per 100 molecules of fermented glycerol. Approx. one molecule of succinic acid is produced per molecule of CO2 utilized. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
