Abstract
Drug treatment in head injury helps to control cerebral hemodynamics, cerebral perfusion pressure (CPP) and intracranial pressure (ICP). Drugs of relevance are osmotics, dopamine, barbiturates, and arteriolar and venous vasoconstrictors. Ca2+ antagonists may relieve vasospasm. Although much is known about the effects of these drugs on various pathophysiological conditions, their clinical value in the treatment of head injury has yet to be elucidated. Keywords
