Abstract
The spontaneous partial resolution of oxalatobis(ethylenediamine)cobalt(III) chloride was affected by the crystallization of the complex compound from a supersaturated aqueous solution (1 g/25 ml) at 20 °C without the influence of any dissymmetric agent. Crystals exhibiting in some cases dextro-rotatory properties, and in the others levo-rotatory were obtained with up to 25% optical purity.
