Abstract
Plasmacytomas were found in 2 adult male rhesus monkeys. Involvement of vertebral bone marrow, skin, kidney and soft tissues was present in 1 case and infiltration of the stomach, lymph nodes and retroperitoneum in the other. Both tumors were seen to be typical plasmacytomas by light and electron microscopy. Strong IgA immunoreactiivty was demonstrated in the tumor cells of 1 case and weak reactivity in the other using rabbit anti-human immunoglobulin sera and the immunoperoxidase technique. IgA was demonstrated in tumor extracts and in the serum of 1 case.
