Abstract
Summary: Splenectomy and injections of iron and trypan blue hinder the development of the hypersensitiveness in tuberculous guinea pigs. Splenectomy in itself has no effect upon the development of hypersensitiveness. Injections of iron sugar and trypan blue in the amounts used do not lessen the already developed skin sensitiveness. These observations and a general consideration indicate that the reticulo-endothelial system has a function in the mechanism of the development of the tuberculin hypersensitiveness, which creates an analogy between the development of the tuberculin hypersensitiveness and the production of antibodies.
