Abstract
A -coincidence method has been developed for measuring relative electric excitation cross sections of the first two excited levels in odd- nuclei. This method has been applied to eight nuclei in the region . In general the results agree very well with the strong-coupling collective-model theory, indicating that in any one nucleus is constant to within about 20%. The deviations, though small, are outside the limits of experimental error for a number of nuclei.
