Abstract
Important advances have been made in the past year in our understanding of the genetics of lipoprotein (a) [Lp(a)]. The apolipoprotein (a) [APO(a)] gene has been cloned and mice have been engineered to express apo(a) and Lp(a). These developments have provided the tools to answer many fundamental questions concerning the genetics, metabolism, and atherogenicity of Lp(a).Keywords
