Abstract
Investigations into cattle mortalities suspected of being caused by the Woolly Everlasting Daisy (Helichrysum blandowskianum) revealed lesions of marked periacinar liver necrosis, vascular degeneration, widespread haemorrhages and oedema. Brains showed status spongiosus. These lesions were reproduced in cattle and sheep fed Helichrysum and in cattle given an intravenous injection of an extract of the plant. Keywords
