Abstract
Mature low-protein-fed and control rats received a gingival injury. Healing responses were studied by autoradiographic analysis. Thirty days after injury, malnourished rats showed lower mean labeling indexes than rats fed ad libitum, which suggests that aging and malnutrition may reduce the compensatory response to injury after initial peaks of repair activity are completed. Keywords
