Abstract
Using the double tracer technique, a metabolic comparison of Ca45 and Ra226 was made in a growing beagle pup. Ra226 left the blood more rapidly than Ca45. Kidney excretion of Ra226 was approximately 20 times that of Ca45; gut excretion of Ra226 approximately twice Ca45. Relative deposition of the two isotopes in whole bones was approximately constant throughout the skeleton, but in teeth more Ca45 relative to Ra226 was deposited than in bone.Keywords
