Abstract
Samples of Gnathotrichus sulcatus were analyzed by x-ray energy spectrometry (XES) and were shown to possess a chemoprint which could be subjected to discriminant analysis. Beetles could be classified by geographical source, sex, or the presence or absence of Stikem Special® with a high degree of accuracy. The techniques could be applied in basic insect dispersal studies, and to identify the source of pest populations in sawmills and log processing areas. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
