Abstract
Biochemical and histological studies of the liver were carried out in 15 patients with hyperthyroidism and in 8 thyroid patients without thyrotoxicosis, who served as a control group. There was no correlation between the liver function tests and the anatomical findings. Although liver damage is not severe in the average consulting hyperthyroid patient, certain signs of hepatocellular necrosis are noted. These changes in the hepatic cell and some of the liver function tests are reversible. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
