Abstract
Areas of commercial fields showing only light symptoms of soil-borne wheat mosaic averaged 6.6-87.9% increase in yield compared with areas with more severe symptoms in 1975. Soil fumigation of areas of 30 .times. 12 m in fields heavily infested with soil-borne wheat mosaic virus with 48.8 g/m2 66% methyl bromide and 33% chloropicrin increased wheat yields as much as 1208% in 1977-1979. Reestablishment of soil-borne wheat mosaic symptoms in fumigated plots is discussed.
