Abstract
While the structure and functions of transit information systems have been widely explored, there exist bottlenecks of information quality. Transit information providers need to understand the travelers' needs correctly. To find out the structure of transit information needs, a survey on transit travelers has been conducted in Wuhan, China. It is discovered that the transit travelers in Wuhan rely heavily on conventional means in making trip plans, and the potential of internet-based spatial transit information service has not yet been fully explored. The investigation reflects the current situation of intelligent transit passenger service, as well as the potentials of development in the future. Keywords
