Abstract
The purpose of this article is to examine the teaching of Christian beliefs in schools. We focus on two major problems in justifying such teaching, namely whether it is possible in the light of our knowledge of the religious development of children and whether it is possible without lapsing into nurture. The argument is that both these difficulties can be overcome. There is a final brief section in which the practical applications of the article are indicated. Keywords
