Abstract
The damping of phonons in Al due to the electron-phonon interaction has been calculated using an effective ion-electron interaction potential given recently by Vosko et al. The results show that this effect is essential, although not sufficient, to account for the experimental data of Nilsson and Stedman. Keywords
