The Osprey process—will it fly?

Abstract
Investment in the Osprey process has been relatively small to date but is now accelerating rapidly. The challenge of the 1990s will be to prove the economic and production feastbility of the process. Will materials manufactured by the Osprey process, particularly lightweight aluminum alloys and superalloys, meet the stringent requirements of the aerospace and space industries and be approved to fly?
