Abstract
The energy release in the reaction 10B(pα)7Be has been measured, using: targets of known thickness, and found to be 1·147±0·010 keV. Evidence for the existence of an excited state of energy about 400 keV. in the 7Be nucleus was obtained. The cross-section for the reaction was found by comparing the yield of alpha particles with the yield from the 10B(nα)7Li reaction observed with the same target. A value of 4·5 × 10-27 cm.2 at 330 keV. proton energy was found. Keywords
