Abstract
The antitoxin of Clostridium sordellii has been standardized in a manner similar to that employed for the standardization of the other antitoxins of the gas gangrene group. A provisional unit corresponding to that proposed by Sordelli for this antitoxin is proposed. A summary of the literature pertaining to C. sordellii is given, together with a discussion of the relationship of C. sordellii to C. bifermentans. Consideration is given to the preparation of the toxin, the determination of the test dose of toxin in mice, tests on the U. S. standard antitoxin, the potency of several commercial antitoxins, and the deterioration of the toxin. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
