Abstract
The ESR and PMR spectra of the solutions of 2,2,6,6‐tetramethylpiperidine nitroxide radical in the series of alcohols from methanol through ethanol, normal and branched propanols, butanols to pentanols were used to determine the 14N and the OH proton hyperfine coupling constants and to discuss trends of their changes. The dependence of the OH coupling constant on temperature was determined for four alcohols and explained in terms of oscillator anharmonicity of the radical‐alcohol hydrogen bond. Keywords
