Abstract
By combining results obtained from a methane counter with those from nuclear emulsions the cross-sections for the 12C(γ3α) reaction at 17·6, 14·8 and 12·3 Mev are found to be (1·70±0·24), (0·33±0·07) and (1·15±0·6)×10−28 cm2 respectively. Analysis of the data suggests a strong resonance in the excitation function near 12·3 mev and possible resonances near 15 and 16 mev. Keywords
