Abstract
We investigate the magnetic response of a two-dimensional system of resistively shunted Josephson junctions to dc and ac magnetic fields. Treating screening effects self-consistently we obtain hysteresis curves, ac susceptibilities, and higher harmonics of magnetization that are very similar to experimental observations on high- superconductors.
