Drug treatment in schizophrenia

Abstract
This article summarizes the recently published findings that are relevant to the pharmacologic treatment of schizophrenia. This past year saw advances in the clinical experience with several putative atypical neuroleptics, an expansion of our collective thoughts on the theoretical neuromolecular mechanisms of these agents, and a satisfying increase in attention paid to the side effects of all antipsychotic drugs.
