Calibration of Audiometers Used in Industry

Abstract
Pure tone audiometry is widely used in industry as a means of monitoring the hearing of personnel exposed to a noise hazard. The importance of recognition of alterations in the performance of audiometers is stressed. A discussion is presented of the ways in which these alterations may be detected. Data are given to support the conclusion that physical methods are superior to their biological counterparts. A suitable method is described.
