Abstract
Pionic contributions to nucleon properties are calculated by applying the methods of the cloudy bag model to a chirally symmetric version of the colour-dielectric model. The authors use the momentum eigenstates constructed by a Peierls-Yoccoz projection (1987) of localized solitons to remove contributions from spurious centre-of-mass motion. When both recoil and pionic effects are included, nucleon properties are in very satisfactory agreement with experiment. Keywords
