Abstract
DNA sequence and genomic location of two repetitive DNA families in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) were investigated to develop molecular markers for chromosome identification. DNA fragments with sequences similar to the tandem and interspersed elements described in other salmonids were isolated. One clone showed differential hybridization to 12 pairs of chromosomes and should be a useful marker for physical mapping. Keywords
