Abstract
A rapid and simplified method for electrophoretic separation of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase variants in hemolysates is described. The method involves electrophoresis on hypergel cellulose acetate supported on a clear plastic (Mylar) base and Tris-EDTA borate buffer, pH 9.1. This inexpensive method takes only 15 min. for electrophoresis and is easily adapted for routine clinical use as well as screening large populations for G-6-PD variants. Keywords
