Occlusion of the Basilar Artery

Abstract
A case report of a patient having symptoms of headache and dizziness followed in several days by acute onset of convulsions, then trismus, facial diplegia, pinpoint pupils, aphagia, anarthria, tetraplegia, hyperactive deep reflexes and extensor plantar responses. Appropriate antibiotic treatment and intensive physical therapy permitted survival of the patient with return of speech and swallowing functions and the use of all extremities including ambulation.
