Abstract
The taxonomic history of the genus-group taxa Triforis Deshayes and Triphora Blainville is discussed. Triforis is transferred from Triphoroidea (Hamiglossa) to Cerithiopsoidea (Mesogastropoda) on the basis of the occurrence of taenioglossate dentition in Triforis blacki Marshall. Cerithiellidae Golikov & Starobogatov and Sherborniidae Iredale are reduced to subfamily rank in Triforidae. Keywords
