Abstract
Stromata from red blood cells of 6 mammal species [man, dog, cat, guinea pig, rat, rabbit] were prepared by hemolysis in presence of EDTA as for the study of membrane ATPase. The content of P was determined according to the procedure of Pulss, and that of Ca and Mg, not removed by EDTA, by emission spectroscopy. Uptake of Ca ions (labeled with 45Ca) by membranes of rat erythrocytes at 37[degree] C was twice that of rabbit erythrocytes. Ouabain did not influence Ca uptake. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
