Abstract
The destruction of ppm levels of vinyl chloride by high-energy electron-beam irradiation has been investigated in various host gases. Measurements of vinyl chloride destruction have been determined over the electron-beam dose range ∼0.01–6 Mrad. The low dose results indicate G values in the range 9–13 are obtained, depending upon the host gas. The high dose results indicate that a factor of 20 reduction in vinyl chloride concentration can be realized for an initial 10 ppm molar vinyl chloride stream in air. A discussion of the kinetic processes responsible for vinyl chloride destruction is presented. This publication has 16 references indexed in Scilit:
